Vasantha Panchami

Vasantha Panchami occurs on the Shukla Panchami day of Magha Maasa symbolizing the birth of Goddess Saraswati, the Vagdevi.

It is also the day when she blessed Mahakavi Kalidasa with supreme intelligence. This day holds special significance for us since Goddess Saraswati blessed the Acharyas of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham with the appellation suffix of Saraswathi when Adi Acharyal ascended the Sarvajna Peetham in Kanchipuram.

Thereafter, all our Acharyas have been known with the suffix of Saraswathi. At Sri MahaPeriyava Manimandapam NJ USA, Vasanta Panchami will be celebrated with Abhishekam, Haarathi and Parayanam of Shyamala Dandakam for Sri MahaPeriyava, our Pratyaksha Saraswathi.
