62nd Jagadguru Sri Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi (IV) Swamigal of Sri Adi Shankara Paramparagatha Moolamnaya Sarvajna Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham – 240th Aradhana

Purvashrama Details: Details not available for this Acharya possibly because during His time the Shrimatham shifted from Kanchipuram to Kumbakonam due to the Carnatic Wars going on near Kanchipuram, and some records could have been lost in such shifting.

Years as Pithadhipati: 37

Siddhi: 4883 Shubhakrit Pausha Krishna Dvitiya (CE 1783-Jan-20)

Siddhi Place: Kumbakonam

During Acharya swamigal’s time, Sri Matham was shifted to Kumbakonam with able assistance by the Udayarapalayam Jamin after travelling to Ananthasayanam, Palayamkottai, Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai and Jambukesvaram. As the customary right of the Sarvajna Peetham, Acharya Swamigal performed the Tatanka Prathishta of Goddess Akhilandeshwari. Acharya swamigal continued His Nishta and Sri Yoga Chandramoulishvara Pooja despite all these hurdles without fail. He composed Shivashtapadi similar to Jayadeva’s Ashtapadi on Lord Ekamranatha and Goddess Kamakshi’s Tapas to unite with the Lord.
